The proprietor of BridgeMoto (formerly Caversham Bridge Motorcycles), Spencer Chaplin has been trading in motorcycles since 1993 and from his Caversham Road premises since 1995. The business has grown into being the UK’s leading importer of iconic Japanese motorcycles.

Spencer learnt his trade with the help of Brian Mclaren and Paul Shirley (Hyperblade) during the mid 1990’s. They started going to Japan together in 1995/6 and sharing shipping containers.

Spencer continued to import using the good contacts made in those early years. He still uses the same agent in Japan to this day and they are now very firm friends having spent a lot of time together during his 14 buying trips over the last 15 or so years.

Spencer enjoys buying stock from Japan, most of which is sourced at auctions. There are four large auctions a week with approximately 7000-8000 motorcycles and scooters between them being sold.

All the auctions have a grading system that ensures only the best bikes are purchased for his stock each week. Spencer also sources motorcycles to your exact specification.
